Leona Hill, 91, of Grangeville, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at a Lewiston care facility.
Leona was born Jan. 3, 1924, at Chattaroy, Wash., a daughter of Daniel and Ollie Unzicker Hill. Her family moved to Idaho when she was a young girl. She attended school at Icicle Flats near Cottonwood. Following her education she married Lloyd Hill on Feb. 25, 1946, at Cottonwood. Together they farmed and ranched on the Camas Prairie. Mr. Hill passed away in 2011.
She enjoyed doing yard work, taking walks and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: sons, Larry and Nancy, Jerry and Karla; and daughter, Bonnie; grandchildren, Ryan Hill, Chad and Terra Hill, Sheila and CJ Oakley, Jay and Nicole Hill, Jodi and Rob Agee, Casey and Amanda Hill, Sarah Losberger and Bob Holt; two sisters, Helen Peterson of Marysville, Wash.,, and Nora McKenney of Mineola, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Lenora Hill of Grangeville; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Monty Hill; a granddaughter, Amy Hill; brothers, Harry, Jack and Johnny; and her sisters, Annie Wells, Cora Dean, Martha Hill and Ruth Graham.
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 14, at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Pastor Harold Gott of the Grangeville Christian Church officiated. Burial followed at Prairie View Cemetery.
