Doris La Verne Rainwater, 92, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at Grangeville Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Cummings, N.D., the daughter of Ray and Nettie Rohman. She met her husband, John, during WWII, they were married on Nov. 16, 1942, in San Francisco, Calif. Doris lived her married life in the Skagit Valley area in Washington state. After her husband, John, passed away in 1993, she moved to the Clearwater and Grangeville area of Idaho, where she lived her remaining years.
She was a lifelong homemaker and a foster mother to many preschool children. Doris lived on a farm both growing up and after she was married.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Olmstead of Grangeville, Idaho, and Raenette Didier and husband, Steve of Clearwater, Idaho. A son, Danny Wayne, passed away in 1996. She had seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A family Celebration of Life will take place in Sedro Woolley, Wash., followed by an inurnment beside her husband, John, at the Sedro Woolley Cemetery.
Her family knows that God has her in his arms, and we have her in our hearts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville, Idaho.
