Lois Joyce Laufenberg, 82, passed away peacefully Sept. 10, 2015. Lois was born July 8, 1933, to Edward and Joyce Clifford.
Lois had an abundance of great adventures in her life. She joined a water show and held the women’s high diving record, drove stock cars and raced horses. Lois then settled down and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Lyles, in 1956 and they had a son.
They divorced and Lois met Ronald Laufenberg. They were married in 1962 and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple, and they had two children. Lois worked side by side with Ron in their roofing business until the day he died. Lois then moved to Phoenix to be closer to her daughter and the warm weather. She took up ballroom dancing, hiking and swimming. She met and loved many friends in the retirement park that she resided in until her health declined. She then moved in with her daughter and was able to enjoy her grandchildren until she was called to Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; her parents; two brothers and a sister. Lois is survived by her sons, Jim (Tamie), Scott (Lisa) and a daughter, Joyce (Ray); a step-daughter, Christine (Sheridan); and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held this Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Mount Idaho Cemetery, Grangeville, Idaho. A celebration of her life and luncheon will be held at the LDS Chapel in Grangeville following the service.
