Jonathan Michael Leach

Jonathan Michael Leach

Kamiah, Idaho

October 12, 1985 - July 28, 2016

Jonathan Michael Leach, the first-born of Michael and Ruth (Lynn) Leach, born Oct. 12, 1985, entered eternity on July 28, 2016, due to a tragic work accident.
Jonathan was married to his best friend and sweetheart, Hannah (Gulotta) Leach on July 11, 2015. Twelve weeks ago they welcomed their little daughter Tekoah Wren, into the family. With new family, enjoyable job, and passionate Christian faith, he lived life with a contagious enthusiasm.
Jonathan’s many interests included creative writing, book collecting, avid reading, and knife and sword collecting. He was a lover of music, an artistic craftsman, and a member of Liberatus Training Group. In addition, he invested deeply in the lives of children with his time and talents.
He was humble and well aware of his faults and made no pretentions of being a saint. His sister aptly summarized Jonathan in these words: “He was an affectionate son, a playful and ornery brother and a passionate and loving husband. As a father he was sweet and adoring. A faithful and honest friend, he was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A man’s legacy can only be measured by the ripples which he leaves behind. If Jonathan’s love were a wave it would be a tsunami, and his love for Jesus, an ocean.”
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Hannah (Gulotta) Leach, and daughter Tekoah Leach; father, Michael Leach; mother, Ruth (Lynn) Leach; brothers, Benjamin Leach of Kamiah, and Mikael (Tiffany) Leach; sister, Evie (Joshua) Loofbourrow of Lewiston; one niece and four nephews.
A memorial is planned on Saturday Aug. 6, 11 a.m. at Grangeville Christian Reformed Church at 4th and Junction streets, Grangeville.
