Donald (Ted) Jones, 83, was born in Grangeville, Idaho, on April 14, 1933, to Edward and Carolyn Jones. He died at home on Nov. 7, 2016, in Boise, Idaho.
He graduated from the University of Idaho. He married Bette Gene Blakely on Dec. 18, 1954, and their only child, Janet, was born in September 1955.
They spent the early years of their marriage in the military in Fort Knox, Ky., and Fort Lewis, Wash. In 1962, he was hired by Warner Lambert as a pharmaceutical salesman and retired in 1990.
Don and Bette spent many years enjoying, raising and traveling to Arabian horse shows with their daughter, and after retirement took many trips in their motor home with their dachshund dogs and numerous friends.
All who knew him knew how he loved to tell stories, jokes, talk politics and made sure that everyone knew his opinion.
It was late in life when Don chose to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was so very thankful to those around him who helped him understand and make that very important decision in his life.
Don was preceded in death by his sister, Muriel Lindsley; and his wife, Bette. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Roman, and son-in-law, Frank; two grandsons, Tony and Mike (Heather); and great-granddaughter, Baylee.
Don’s memorial service was Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Trinity Fellowship Church, 300 N. Latah, Boise, Idaho.
Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA. Condolences may be sent to Bowmanfuneral.com.
