Lonnie D. Ellibee, 72, of Grangeville, Idaho, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at Meadowlark Homes in Grangeville.
Lonnie was born April 28, 1945, in Nyssa, Ore., to Leo and Harriett Ellibee. He graduated from Riggins High School in 1963 and joined the US Navy in 1965, serving three tours in Vietnam as a Fighting Seabee. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He met Marie Henderson; they married and had two boys, Guy and Matt. They later divorced.
Lonnie spent the majority of his life operating heavy equipment, driving long-haul truck and chip truck prior to his retirement.
Lonnie is survived by his sons, Guy (Alicia) Ellibee, of Clarkston, Wash., Matt (Laura) Ellibee, of Burns, Ore.; his grandchildren, Brock, Brandon, Sam and Megan; his sisters, Lynette Moritz, Lyla Spencer and Lavonna Rudger; brother, Larry Ellibee; his beloved “Heeler Team”, Diesel and Pepper; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloy Hatch.
