Doris Ann Drake, 92, of Kamiah, Idaho, died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation in Grangeville, Idaho. She was born March 9, 1925, in Winona, Idaho, to Doyle and
Elsie Arp Hobart. She graduated in 1943 from Kamiah High School and went on to attend Kinman Business College in Spokane, Wash.
She married Roy (Duck) Drake Jr. June 5, 1945, in Kamiah. They lived at various times together in Kamiah, Kooskia, Lewiston and Juliaetta, Idaho. She worked various jobs, but spent the greatest amount of time working at Central Idaho Bank in Kooskia and Lewiston Grain Growers in Lenore and Lewiston, Idaho. Upon retirement in 1991, she and Duck returned to Kamiah, where they resided until Duck passed away June 2, 1998. She then resided at assisted living residences with Irene Brown in Kooskia, Haven of Rest in Kamiah, and Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation in Grangeville.
She is survived by her son, Greg Drake; daughter, Beth (Jess) Collins; sister, Elaine Gay; sister-in-law, Connie Hobart; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Kamiah Community Presbyterian Church.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kamiah EMT, in care of Kamiah City Hall, P.O. Box 338, Kamiah, ID 83536.
