Orville A. Biggers, 92, of Grangeville, Idaho, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at the Grangeville Health and Rehab Center in Grangeville.
Orville was born Feb. 6, 1925, at Sweet, Idaho, a son of Charles and Alice Howe Biggers. He attended the Brownlee school before graduating from Emmett High School. He was drafted in the Army Air Force in 1943 and was discharged in 1945. He attended watch making school in Sacramento from 1946-47, then moved to Grangeville in 1948. He married Johanna Vrieling on June 19, 1953 at Grangeville. He worked at Walker’s Jewelry until his retirement.
He was a member of Mountain Shadows Baptist Church in Grangeville.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna, of Grangeville; his daughters, Jana and Matt Myers, of Celina, Texas, Karla and Jerry Hill, of Grangeville, Marsha and Bob Andrews, of Brush Prairie, Wash. and Danell and David Niemeyer, of Lewiston, Idaho. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Biggers, of Meridian, Idaho; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at the Grangeville Christian Church with Pastor Vic Cline of the Mountain Shadows Baptist Church officiating. A visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at the Blackmer Funeral Home from 4 to 6 pm. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's or to a favorite charity.
