Steven France Reed, 74, of Everett, Wash., died on June 10th, 2018 after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Steve was born on March 31, 1944 at Kamiah, Idaho. He was the youngest child of Aaron and Mae (Schwatz-McPherson) Reed and brother to Aaron, Jr., and Edwin. He was raised in Kamiah and graduated from Kamiah High School, class of 1963. Upon graduation, Steve enlisted in the United States Army where he served four years.
After serving in the Army, Steve moved to Pocatello for a time, working and learning about airplanes, and eventually getting his pilot’s license.
Steve moved to Lewiston, Idaho in 1972, taking a job as an auto body mechanic. Later he opened and operated an auto body shop in Lewiston until he moved back to Kamiah.
In 1988 he moved to Everett, Wash. Soon after, he took a job at Boeing where he worked until he retired.
Steve’s hobbies were aviation, automobiles, and boats. He loved fast cars and anything with a modified engine. He lived a full, rich life.
Steve is survived by his four children: Brent and Christy Reed of Toledo, Wash., Tawne and Shawn Johnson of Kooskia, Idaho, Bryan and Jessica Reed of Lynnwood, Wash., and Shelley Reed of Mukilteo, Wash. He is also survived by a brother, Aaron and Cheryl Reed of Kamiah, and 10 grandchildren.
Steve’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes to be spread over the Puget Sound, one of his favorite places. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be spread at a date to be determined.
