Dale Wiley Manifold was born on Jan. 8, 1930, in York County, Pa. He passed away after a long illness on Feb. 3, 2018. He was the son of Samuel D. Manifold and Louise Wiley Manifold and brother of Hughes, Sarah, and Jane. After marrying, and during which he served three tours of duty as a Captain with the Marine Corps in both Korea and Vietnam, working at the San Diego Wild Animal Park and RVing around the country for many years, he finally settled in Yuma, Ariz. in 2004.
Dale was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Vista, Calif., was active in the Mustangs and MOA and was a former elder of Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, and will be remembered as a caring, gregarious, and generous person to the various organizations with which he was associated. Dale never turned anyone down for any reason. His giving spirit has affected many in the communities in which he lived.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, to whom he was married 68 years; sons, Dennis (Sandra), of Trinidad, Colo., Richard (Patricia), of Grangeville, Idaho and Alan (Monique), of Yuma; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 14 nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday Feb. 16, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Eternal Hills Cemetery in Oceanside, Calif., 1999 El Camino Real. Services will also be held at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, 150 W. 28th St., Yuma on Saturday Feb. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. Reception will immediately follow at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma.
