Mike Lauer was born Dec. 20, 1941, to Antone and Ella Elizabeth Davis Lauer of Ferdinand, Idaho. Mike died on Jan. 2, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood, Idaho.
He attended Morris Catholic School of Ferdinand through 8th grade. He graduated from Cottonwood High School. After graduation he enlisted in the army. After his service in the army he went to work for Channel Lumber. Over the next few years he worked in the woods from Elk City to St. Maries, Idaho. He then was employed by Riener Rock Crushing and settled in Ferdinand. After retiring from Riener's he did odd jobs like tilling gardens, etc. in the area.
He is survived by brothers, Bob Lauer, of Kamiah, Idaho, Marion Lauer, of St. Maries, Don Lauer, of Royal City, Wash.; and sisters, Edna Warnock, of Aberdeen, Wash. and Edith Mitchell, of Kooskia, Idaho.
He was proceeded in death by both his parents and an infant brother, Ronald.
Services were held Jan. 6, 2018, at Assumption Parish in Ferdinand. Burial will follow at a later date.
