Larry L. Slichter, 74, born in Grangeville, Idaho, to Melva and Sam Slichter, died Jan. 7, 2018, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
In 1961 Larry enlisted in the Navy and served four years. In 1968 he went to Anchorage, Alaska. After a brief time cooking, he learned the trade he lived and loved for more than 40 years, floorcovering. He worked in many cities, towns and bush villages throughout Alaska. He and his wife also owned Sycamore Floor Covering in Clarkston, Wash.
Larry loved fishing the waters of Alaska. He was a cook (the trade he learned in the Navy), he liked old cars, playing cards, Starbucks and riding his recumbent trike. He never met a stranger.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Melva and Sam Slichter; infant sister, Sareta; youngest brother, Jon; and in-laws, Bill and Adeline Pace.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bea; son, Mark; daughter, Corrina and son-in-law, Jeromie Webster; sister, Kathleen (Jim) Vopat; brothers, Ron Slichter, Allan (Georgia) Slichter, Leon (Sheryl) Slichter; brother-in-law, Bill(Maxine) Pace; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
