Esther I. Edwards, 95, of Grangeville, Idaho, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at Meadowlark Homes in Grangeville.
She was born Aug. 22, 1922, to Joe and Iva Cox in Creston, Wash. She then later graduated from Creston High School. She worked in the shipyards in Seattle, Wash., during WWII. After retirement, she became very active in the Eagles Auxiliary. Esther has lived in Meadowlark Homes since 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; her husband; and son, Melvin.
She is survived by nieces and nephews and three special girls that she calls her un-adopted adopted daughters: Sandra Ratcliff, Nita Conklin, of Oregon and Ruth Vrieling, of Grangeville.
A special thank you to Meadowlark Homes and all the girls who cared for her.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville.
