Wednesday Jan. 14, 3:03 a.m., Syringa Hospital welcomed its first baby for 2015. Taylor Canaday and Mark McColloch are the proud parents of a healthy baby girl, Ally J., who weighed seven pounds, three ounces, and was delivered by Dr. Told. Syringa has been preparing for this birth for more than a month now. In December, Syringa employees started making donations for the first baby born in Idaho County as well as the first baby born at Syringa. All employees participated in some way. Along with donations of baby outfits and basic infant supplies, a large diaper cake was created and monetary donations were used to purchase gift certificates for dinner and a movie for the parents and a pack and play for little Ally. Gift certificates were also donated for an hour-long photo session and 25 birth announcements.
