Grangeville's Hailey Sullivan led all scorers with 17 points, which lifted GHS to a 36-30 win over St. Maries Monday night at the Central Idaho League's district tournament in Genesee. Pictured, the defenses were all over the offenses, though St. Maries junior Kelcey Auer didn't make a clean block on this play. Instead Sullivan went to the foul line and sank both foul shots, putting GHS ahead 18-15 with 2:38 left in the second quarter.

Even with 30 points from their two top scorers balancing away the whole of the Lumberjacks' total, the Grangeville girls needed key hoops from Paige Lindsley, Chloe Dame and Abi Stowell to pull off their most important win yet. The GHS girls beat St. Maries 36-30 on a night Hailey Sullivan (17 points) and McKenzie Kennedy (13) delivered their typically outstanding output, but with a 25-25 tie persisting deep into the fourth quarter, Grangeville needed another player to step up.
