Rain interrupts completion of haying

With haying currently in progress and moving towards completion, farmers are eyeing the beginning of harvest for other crops. Cutting could begin towards the end of July for fields of barley, canola and winter wheat. University of Idaho county extension educator Jim Church said he estimates haying to be 85 to 90 percent completed. “I’d say we are probably 90 percent done,” he said. “Then the rains came and we stalled out.”
