Weed ordinance not working, council to revisit in October

“We had good intentions,” said city councilor Beryl Grant, “but it’s not enforceable. So, let’s fix it, get rid of it, and go back to where we were.” Weeds were on the Grangeville City Council agenda at its Sept. 4 meeting, specifically the continued problem with overgrown lots and difficulty in getting property owners to take care of this vegetation nuisance, both to the eye and for its potential fire danger.

Managed growth, housing, services issues in Grangeville City Council race

City infrastructure, providing and managing growth, and providing for more and affordable housing are issues for candidates in the race for Grangeville City Council. A vigorous turnout this go-round has given Grangeville voters several choices to consider for three council seats, all four-year terms: Dylan Canaday, Dan Gautney, Todd McGeorge, Earl Musick, along with incumbents Beryl Grant and Scott Winkler. Candidates will be running for open city council positions in the Nov. 7 election.
