The threat of fire is over for hopefully this year for Lowell; it’s three miles out and burning very slowly. News from the Coolwater Complex about the Andy’s Hump fire is that cooler weather has stopped that burn from causing concern for structures here at the confluence. They continue to watch and finish the planned protection. Forest Supervisor Cheryl Probert has approved a plan designed to improve forest health and reduce fuels. The Lowell WUI project (we pronounce woo-ee) will treat 166 acres on the district.
