Rattlesnake fire ‘more likely’ to hold this week; at 5,336 acres

According to the Rattlesnake Creek Fire incident management team's Inciweb page Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, the fire had burned 5,336 acres so far—about 700 acres more than the IMT reported Monday morning. The page described "active fire behavior with single tree torching and short-range spotting."

Rattlesnake Creek firefighters injured by burning snag

Two members of the Navajo Interagency Hotshot Crew were injured Sunday, Aug. 12, by a burning snag while conducting fire suppression activities on the Rattlesnake Creek Fire. Both were treated at the hospital in McCall and released: one to home, the other to a burn facility in Salt Lake City.

Rattlesnake Creek Fire IMT to rotate Thursday morning

With a changing of the guard coming up Thursday morning, crews on Wednesday continued to patrol and mop up along the northern, eastern, and northwestern containment lines in the Rattlesnake Creek Fire area in southern Idaho County.
