Cookbook available from Nazarene ladies

From Watergate Salad and Shipwreck Stew to Boiled Cake and Eggnog Ice Cream, “Recipes and Remembrances,” has it all. The 96-page Nazarene Ladies Cookbook was recently published and is on sale for $15. Included in the book are recipes from current Grangeville Church of the Nazarene members as well as those who have died.

Sister is keeper of archives, history

Benedictines are known for having hospitality toward the past and the stories that tell us who we are. Some historians have attributed the survival of Western culture through the Middle Ages to the Benedictine monasteries of Europe. Sister Miriam Mendez oversees the Monastery of St. Gertrude archives for similar reasons. “It’s our community’s history. If we don’t understand our history, how do we know where we are going?” she asked.
