Grangeville-area turkey and moose hunters had happy endings last week, and with the general deer and elk seasons set to open Thursday, Oct. 10, more hunter success is sure to follow.

Isabella Klapprich, 12, of Grangeville, a seventh grader at Grangeville Elementary Middle School, bagged her first deer Saturday, Nov. 9, in Cottonwood. She is the daughter of Bilejo and Melissa Klapprich.
Ian Huntley, 12, of Mt. Idaho, shot his first deer, a muley buck on Sunday, Nov. 3. He is the son of Lee and Jen Huntley.
Garrett Crenshaw, 12, of Cottonwood, shot his first deer, a whitetail buck, west of Cottonwood with his .223 rifle at a range of about 80 yards on the second day of the season, Oct. 11. He is the son of Thomas and Donya Crenshaw.
