GHS Band Disneyland fund-raiser offers tri-tip dinner
GRANGEVILLE – A tri-tip dinner for four people is available as a fund-raiser for the Grangeville High School Band.
Pre-order for $45 for 40 ounces of tri-tip, French bread and salad, a meal for four. Pickup is Friday, Feb. 9, at the GHS cafeteria with choices of pickup times between 5 and 7 p.m.

Notes and Floats fund-raiser set for this Saturday
GRANGEVILLE – Mark your calendars for the Cornerstone Christian Learning Center annual Notes and Floats Fund-raiser.
Note and Floats is set for Saturday, Feb. 3, at 5:30 p.m., at the Grangeville Nazarene Church, 515 W. N. 2nd Street.
Tickets are $10 per person and are available from any parent, at the church or by calling 208-983-0029 or 208-983-0552.
This event will include a Disney-themed performance by the Idaho County Orchestra as well as various local talented individuals. Tickets also include the option of dessert or an ice cream float bar. A silent auction with various home goods, gift baskets, sugar cookie kits for order and high-end desserts will also be available.
‘Have a Heart for Health Care’ event is Feb. 12
GRANGEVILLE — Idaho voters are invited to the “Have a Heart for Health Care” event at the Soltman Center Monday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Petitions to put expanded Medicaid on the ballot in November will be available to sign by registered voters. Voter registration will also be available for those who aren’t yet registered. This initiative benefits the 78,000 Idahoans who fall into the “Medicaid Gap”- those who are working, but can’t afford health care. Stop by for a Valentine cookie and coffee or punch. GHS class of 2018 to hold yard sale, breakfast: Donations sought
GRANGEVILLE — GHS Class of 2018 Senior Fun Night will hold a yard sale Saturday, March 17, and will continue through the Senior Breakfast at the Eagles Sunday, March 18. A baked food sale will also be held the 18th.

Ground Hog Feed is this Sunday in Clearwater
CLEARWATER — The 55th Annual Clearwater Ground Hog Feed will be held this Sunday, Feb. 4. This all-you-can eat sausage and pancake breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. There will also be a raffle for a quilt and other items.
March 9 set for GOP Lincoln Day Dinner
GREENCREEK – The annual Lincoln Day Dinner will be held Friday, March 9, at the Greencreek Community Hall. The event starts with a 5 p.m. social hour and silent auction, dinner at 6 and a forum for the five candidates for lieutenant governor at 7 p.m. Candidates for state through local offices will also be introduced.
The event is sponsored by the Republican central committees for Idaho and Lewis counties.
Interim chair, vice chair sought for Idaho County RCC
An interim chair and vice chair are being sought for the Idaho County Republican Central Committee to serve through to the May primary election. The positions are open to the general public to apply for, and those interested do not need be an elected precinct committeeperson to hold the offices.
Those interested need to contact the committee to be placed on the Feb. 20 agenda, at which time each candidate will speak on his or her qualifications prior to an election being held.
The vacancies come as a result of current chairman Jon Menough and vice-chairman Kevin Duden having to resign due to commitments of taking jobs outside of Idaho.
Stevens to present to Encouragers
GRANGEVILLE — Michael Stevens will share his recent Philippines mission experience with Encouragers Thursday, Feb. 1, at the 11:30 a.m., luncheon at Pizza Factory in Grangeville.
Stevens trained with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Australia, then travelled to Manila to do evangelistic outreach. His team ran basketball tournaments, fed the hungry, visited slums, performed dramas, church and school teaching, and prison ministry. Stevens is the son of Fred and Rene’ Stevens of Grangeville.
All are invited, especially young people, to this no-host event at 126 W. Main Street.
Chili feed, Bingo fund-raiser for Salmon River Senior Citizens
RIGGINS – A chili feed and Bingo fund-raiser is set for Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Riggins Community Center. Cost is $10 per person and includes meal, drink, dessert plus two Bingo cards. For just chili it is $7 per person and just Bingo is $5 with two free cards. Dinner starts at 5 p.m., Bingo at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds go toward area senior citizens.
Prayer time set for Feb. 10
GRANGEVILLE — Prayer time is set for the Soltman Center (across Main Street from the hospital) in Grangeville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. Also, those who would like to share and discuss ideas for the observance of the National Day of Prayer in May can come in at 8 a.m.

Ultimate frisbee, soccer, basketball all combined for special event
KAMIAH — The Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) will be hosting a sports event. This will be a combination of basketball, ultimate frisbee, and soccer. This will take place at the Wa-A’Yas Community Center, 401 Idaho Street, in Kamiah, on Friday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. This event is free, and is open for youth and adults, 12 and older. There will be music and refreshments provided.

JOHNSON, Vt. — Karina Garrett of Grangeville has been named to the president’s list at Johnson State College in Johnson, Vt., for the fall 2017 semester. The president’s list recognizes students who attained a 4.0 GPA.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Anne Eimers of Grangeville has been named by Montana State University to its undergraduate dean’s honor roll for fall semester 2017.
The dean’s honor roll includes the 3,416 students earning grade point averages of 3.5 or above for the semester.
