Cornerstone Theater presents ‘A Christmas Carol’ Dec. 9-11

Cornerstone Theater will perform ‘A Christmas Carol’ on Dec. 9-11. Pictured at rehearsal last Thursday, Dec. 1, in a scene with the Cratchit family were (L-R) Patrick Mcguigan (Peter Cratchit), Jordan Raichart (Bob Cratchit) and Calub Sherrer (Tiny Tim).

GRANGEVILLE — A classic holiday tale of a heartless miser, ghosts and redemption: A Christmas Carol will be performed by Cornerstone Theater this Friday through Sunday, Dec. 9-11.

Performances will be held at the United Methodist Church (corner of Main and South Idaho streets) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday. A freewill offering for admission will be taken, with proceeds to go toward Hurricane Matthew relief through World Vision. Following the Sunday performance, refreshments will be provided.

The performance will last approximately an hour and a half, to be conducted by theater members in age range from 8 to 24. This story by Charles Dickens, originally published in 1843, has been adapted for this performance by Grangeville resident Kristen Ahrens.

According to Cornerstone Theater, it is a group of Christian young people desiring to shine their lights for Jesus Christ, by using the theater to raise funds for various ministries, both locally and abroad. Find them on Facebook, or for information call Kelly Turney, 839-2831.
