Evangelist to speak in Cottonwood April 4, 5

Evangelist Richard Lane will be at St. Mary’s Church in Cottonwood this week.

COTTONWOOD – Catholic evangelist Richard Lane will hold a two-day Lenten missions session at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood.

This is set for Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5, 7 p.m., each night. Mass is at 6:30 p.m.

Born in Detroit, Lane is a National Football League Hall of Fame cornerback who attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and also served for nearly six years in the United States Army Military Police Corps.

As a convert to the Catholic faith in 2003, it was in early 2005 when he said he was led to begin proclaiming the gospel as a street corner evangelist, sharing the word of God, passing out Bibles, crosses and other religious items. He is co-founder of Catholic Men for Christ Men’s Conference in St. Louis, Mo., which continues to draw thousands of men each year to hear the gospel.

The church is located at 508 Church Street.
