Halloween, harvest events: ‘Spooky’ activities planned in county

A variety of Halloween events and harvest parties are planned throughout Idaho County. Included are the following:


•Doreen’s Southfork Saloon in Cottonwood will host an adult Halloween event Saturday, Oct. 31, with karaoke and costumes. Bring in a carved pumpkin for judging, too. Stop by 416 Main Street.


•The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with The Grangeville City Police, The Grangeville Fire Department, and the Syringa Hospital ambulance crew, invite the public for the annual Trunk or Treat event Saturday, Oct. 31, 3-5p.m., in the back parking lot of the Idaho County Courthouse.

Children can trick or treat from trunks of those participating. This event is free to all Idaho county residents.

Those who would like to make candy or prize donations can drop them off at the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

All businesses are welcome to join the event. RSVP by calling Idaho County Dispatch at 983-1100.

•Grangeville Church of the Nazarene, 515 W. N. 2nd Street, will host its October Fellowship Harvest Chili Feed Saturday, Oct. 31, 4 p.m.

•King’s Variety Store will have a Halloween costume contest Saturday, Oct. 31, 3-6 p.m. Stop by kids 16 and younger and have your picture taken. Prizes will be awarded for first, $50 King’s gift card, second, $30 King’s gift card, and third, $20 King’s gift card.

•Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center will host a haunted house for children 10 and younger, Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 2 p.m.

•Grangeville Christian Church and Abundant Life Ministries will host its Harvest Celebration Saturday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m. There will be chili and hot dogs, candy, games and prizes. Everyone is welcome. This will be held at the Christian Church, 402 W S 1st Street.

•The Establishment will host a 21-and-older Halloween party Saturday, Oct. 31, 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. The Katz Band will be featured and there will be a costume contest. Dress in costume and get a discount cover. Stop by 142 East Main Street.


•Kamiah Chamber will be host to a Children’s Costume Contest Saturday, Oct. 31. Lineup at 3:30 p.m. Kids are judged and Kamiah Bucks prizes awarded. Kids “parade” down Main Street trick-or-treating the merchants.

•The Wa-A-Yas Community Center Halloween party is set for Friday, Oct. 30, 5:30-8 p.m. There will be a costume contest, chili, fry bread and cake walks. Everyone is welcome. Volunteers needed. Call 935-2525 or 935-5261.

  •Halloween for the Adults: Dress up and join the party at the Silver Dollar on Halloween night. Cash prizes will be given.
