The Community Action Partnership (CAP) may be able to help those who qualify with their utility bills. The assistance goes toward customers’ energy bills during the cold winter months.

Energy Assistance eligibility is based on income. To qualify for energy assistance, the household’s average total monthly income must be at or below the stated amount for the program.

A household of one can make $1,518 per month; for two - $2,058; for three - $2,598; for four - $3,138; for five - $3,678; for six - $4,218; for seven - $4,758; for eight - $5,298. For each additional household member, add $540.

To expedite the application process, fill out on-line form. Provide the following documents to accompany the application:

• Verification of Social Security or Immigration Status for all household members

• Income forms for three months

• Current utility bill
