The Mountain View School District Libraries are busy places. Most recently the Clearwater Valley Junior / Senior High School library was awarded a STEAM grant from the VEST organization to help purchase Ozobots, circuitry supplies, 3D pens, MakeyMakeys, and Bloxels. These materials will be purchased to encourage students to learn computer coding, problems solving and be creative. The Clearwater Valley Junior / Senior High School library also held a pumpkin carving contest with Alex Sams, Taya Pfefferkorn and Logan Wells receiving first through third place. Slime making was also a popular lunchtime activity.

Book fairs will be coming to our elementary libraries soon. The Clearwater Valley Elementary library will host its annual fall book fair Nov. 27-29. On the 29th the book fair will be open until 5:30 p.m. for Family Night. Online book fair shopping is also available Nov. 15 through 28 at www.scholastic.com/bf/clearwatervalleyelemsch1.

Grangeville Elementary / Middle School library will be hosting its book fair from Dec. 1-6. We will be open the day of the GEMS craft fair and the following week during school hours through Thursday. Online shopping is open Nov. 25 through Dec. 8 at www.scholastic.com/bf/grangevilleelemmidschool.

The Grangeville Elementary / Middle School library is partnering with the Grangeville Centennial Library to host an evening of Spy Training Camp to celebrate Family Read Week. Training Camp will take place at the GEMS library from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14. Parents with their elementary children are invited to attend to practice their spy skills, win prizes and encourage the love of reading. Snacks will be provided by the GEMS middle school student council for a small cost. For information about events, contact any of the school libraries.
