KAMIAH — By Pastor Kelly Lineberry

The first few days of winter may sneak up on us. The first frost. The first snowfall. The living foliage goes dormant. Signs of life ebb away! If you have been through winter a few times you come to accept these chilly changes. You expect them to be short-lived. You expect warmer days to come. You expect renewal. You look forward to new sprouts, new blooms and new life.

What happens when winter hangs on too long? What happens when the gray skies seem to never clear? What happens when winter threatens to never leave?

We may feel a little like this regarding our own weather this year ... but we may also feel this way in other areas of our life as well. Perhaps some of us feel this way regarding our marriage, our health, our business, our finances, our parenting or any number of other things.

Do you need to recover from winter? Are you needing some warmth to thaw out frozen yesterdays? Are you looking to the sky for the clouds to part and let a little sun shine down? Look at Isaiah 40:28-31 “Have you not known/ Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint”

In our own strength we are very limited. We don’t have enough power to change winter into spring. But our Creator does. He loves to create new seasons in our life. He loves to help us with the bitter, cold, lifeless happenings that threaten to linger and become permanent. God will renew your marriage, parenting, finances, health and spirit. Are you waiting on Him? Are you calling out to Him? He will renew your strength, He will help you recover from winter and give you the wings of an eagle. I pray you will recover from your winter seasons quickly, in Jesus name!
