RIGGINS — Happy 4th of July week to everyone! Let freedom ring! Celebrate with family and friends in your special way. Remember that freedom is not free; we still have military men and women fighting for our freedom…just as those have done for us in the past.

My quote for the week is “To raise a child who is comfortable enough to leave you, means you’ve done your job. They are not ours to keep, but to teach how to soar on their own.”

Bingo for July will be the next Wednesday, July 11 at 6:30 at the Riggins Community Center. Everyone 18 and older is invited to join the fun and help raise funds for the senior citizen transit bus.

Leighton Vander Esch news: The last stretch of the off-season is upon the Dallas Cowboys…they will get together again for training camp. The writers of DallasCowboys.com will focus on each position to find the most intriguing battles. For linebackers, the Cowboys drafted Leighton with the number 19 overall pick; the massive Boise State product is a natural fit to play the Mike position.
