Grangeville Elementary Middle School held its winter band and choir concert “Through the Decades,” Tuesday, March 12.

GEMS winter concert

Here, Tobias Stoner plays the clarinet in the 7th/8th grade band. In the background (L-R) are Dustin Kaschmitter on the trombone and Michael Green on the trumpet.

Middle school choir students sang songs from the 1930s through the 1960s, under the direction of GEMS music teacher Mrs. Carla Astle.

The band played several tunes under the direction of Grangeville band teacher Mr. Jonah Litman. Both teachers thanked GEMS Principal Dr. Susan Anderson for her “unending support.”

Choir pianist is student Kaylee Pikus. The fourth quarter band and choir concert is set for May 14, 7 p.m.
