November is halfway gone and the holidays have begun.
The Rebekahs Turkey Dinner was once again a success. We appreciate these ladies for all their effort on putting on a great fund-raiser...well done. The American Legion No. 152 bought dinners for 27 veterans. We fed 225 people and a special appreciation goes out to OC who cooked two turkeys. Hope everyone remembered to get their new 2018 community calendars. I received mine and it is great to see all the information on the area cowboys. A great job and a lot of time was put into these calendars, please help support the Library and their fund-raiser too.
There was a memorial presentation at the park this last Saturday to honor the veterans. We thank all those who served.
The next upcoming event will be the Gun Club Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 18. This is open to everyone and sign-in begins at 8 a.m., with the shoot starting at 9 a.m. If you need more information, call Dave at 208-628-3759.
Upcoming events are Dec. 1, the decorating of town will take place at 1:30 p.m. Meet at the storage unit if you can help. Then on Dec. 2, the WBARD will be sponsoring a “Big Buck Brag Time” contest and the “First-time Hunter Bragging” contest (10-12 years). Prizes will be awarded, with a $5 entry fee and you must be present to win for the Big Buck Brag contest. I do not have a time so call Brenda or Dean for more information. Prizes will be given for the First-Time Hunters contest also.
The Lighting Contest will happen again this year, so if you want your business or residence (living in the 83554 zip are eligible). Barbara and Verna Lowe are heading this up, so give them a call and get entered. This takes place on Dec. 15th.

TidBit: Here are a few more for “You live in Idaho”:
If you’ve had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dials the wrong number.
If you have switched from “heat” to “A/C” and back in the same day.
If you install security lights on your house and garage but leave the doors unlocked.
If you can drive 75mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching.
If the speed limit on the highway is 55mph - you’re going 80 and everyone is still passing you.
If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
If you find 10 degrees ‘a little chilly’.
If you actually understand these...Welcome to Idaho everyone!
