WHITE BIRD — Well, is everyone as tired as I am? The weather held and we had a great weekend of fun, games, dancing, parade, rodeos and a lot of visiting. Now that our big weekend is over, there isn’t much going on as it’s the end of the month already.

I want to thank all the dads out there and hope you all had a great day also.

On July 1, the will be a Cajun style crawdad feed that the American Legion of White Bird will be sponsoring. This happens downtown at 4 p.m., until all is gone. $20 /person presale, and $25/person at the door. No credit cards accepted and a show of ID will be taken as draft beer will be available. There will be a raffle and you can get more information by calling Walt Lindsey at 404-8571 or 839-2457 or Homer Brown at 315-2293.

No meetings coming up, so here are a few upcoming events to consider. July 1st and 2nd brings on the Winchester Rodeo. Days of good, family fun, with a cowboy breakfast and rodeo. For information on this call Diana Humphrey at 924-5840 or e-mail her dianahumphrey3@hotmail.com.

Idaho’s oldest rodeo since 1912 brings on the 106th running Grangeville Border Days celebration. Rodeos will be held on July 1, 2, and 3, starting at 6 p.m., each night. Then on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th the parades will run down main street beginning at 2pm each day. Parade theme is “Wild Roots of Country”. Visit www.grangevilleborderdays.org for more information on all activities, even the big egg toss!

The music in the park begins mid-July in Grangeville on Thursday evenings at the city park across from Les Schwab Tires. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy some great music. This runs through August.

I did not receive the parade results or any of the games, so I hope someone else will be reporting on them. Rodeo results, you can find in the Free Press, along with the raffle results from the rodeo. The Eh Capa Bareback Riders wanted me to let everyone know they had a great time here and fully enjoyed all the activities.

Birthdays for this week are Jonna Holthaus, Tammy Battles, Josephine Parsons, Dianna Bunting, Amy Buss, Emily Gennis, Ryan Hoene, Gabriel, Bryden Pineda, Dale Clark, Josh West, Bryan Lowe, Trace Chandler, Elizabeth Marek, Roy Farmer, Trayven Sickels and Mike Tilley.

Anniversary wishes go out to Matt & Carol Fee, Roy & Cody Farmer, Todd & Heather Cullin, and Mike & Lynn Fredrickson.

I would like to thank everyone who helped over the last weekend. Everybody did a great job of helping with our little town’s celebration and all of us should be very proud of the hospitality that comes from such a small town. Thanks, and let’s make it even better next year.
