Conditions prime for early, aggressive emergence of invasive species

GRANGEVILLE — Registration deadline is next Tuesday, March 13, for this month’s Idaho County Cooperative Weed Management Invasive Plant Workshop.

The no-cost workshop will be Wednesday, March 21, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Grangeville Elks Lodge, 111 South Meadow Street. Idaho Department of Agriculture pesticide recertification credits have been requested.

Topics for the workshop: NRCS cost share programs and technical support, annual grass control strategy, post-fire weed management and regeneration for forests, setting weed management strategies for your property, managing weeks after a forest harvest, biological weed control, adjuvants and best to use them, understanding chemical labels, and identifying local weeds.

Lunch will be provided by Melissa’s Lunch Box, sponsored by Dow AgroSciences.
