University of Idaho Extension offering small farms, food series starting Jan. 29

NEZPERCE — Private pesticide applicator training and testing will be offered in Nezperce on Feb. 28 and March 1, presented by University of Idaho Extension. Testing will be on March 2.

This free course is offered locally in Lewis County for area farmers, ranchers and fieldmen every other year.

Training runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Room in the Nezperce Library on Feb. 28 and March 1.

Pesticide applicator topics covered include recordkeeping, formulation, labels and safety, the fate of pesticides, weed control, and basic equipment calibration. The class will be taught by area extension educators.

To take the test March 2, call the Lewis County Extension Office, 208-937-2311. All testing categories will be offered.
