COTTONWOOD KANSAS — Amy Rose, daughter of Virgil and Donna Wassmuth of Greencreek, Idaho, and Jim Gorges, son of Pat and the late Delmer Gorges of Clonmel, Kansas, were joined in holy matrimony during a wedding Mass on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
The ceremony was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clonmel. A first cousin to the groom, Father Bernie Gorges officiated the nuptials, and Father Joseph Tatro concelebrated.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her son, Thomas Rose. Makayla Rose, daughter of the bride, stood as maid of honor. The bride’s niece, Lauren Dillard, and her sister, Kim Vogel, were bridesmaids.
The best man was Dawson Gorges, son of the groom. Larry Gorges, brother of the groom, and Justin Scuka, a friend of the groom, served as groomsmen.
All of the bride’s four siblings and the groom’s five siblings, the bride’s parents, and the groom’s mother, along with extended family, and friends traveled to Clonmel to attend the joyous event.
The reception was held at the groom’s sister’s home, Colleen and Ed Mikesell, in Goddard, Kan.
The bride is the administrative assistant at Summit Academy Catholic School in Cottonwood. The groom is the undersheriff for Idaho County Sheriff’s Office. Together they operate American Freedom Defense, a firearms training facility, which they operate in Greencreek. The couple is also making their home in Greencreek.
