FSA to celebrate National Ag Day with free lunch in Grangeville, Nezperce

Ag Appreciation Day lunches will be held at the Grangeville and Nezperce Farm Service Agency offices from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

Farmers, ranchers and those who support the industries are invited to a free lunch this Thursday, March 21.

National Agriculture Day is a day that is designated each year by the Agriculture Council of America to celebrate the accomplishments of agriculture and spotlights the work of American producers who work to provide food, fiber and more to the United States and countries around the world.

Idaho County and Lewis/Clearwater County Farm Service agencies have partnered with their local Lions Club by hosting an Ag Appreciation Day luncheon at both the Grangeville and Nezperce offices March 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to a Farm Service Agency (FSA) press release, American farmers and ranchers “are working harder than ever, and it shows. The need for food produced in the United State is dramatic. Current statistics show that each American farmer feeds more than 165 people. Agriculture is this nation's number one export and vitally important in sustaining a healthy economy.”

“Providing Lions burgers, chips and soft drinks is a way for us to show our appreciation to farmers, ranchers and those in the area who help support the industry,” the release read. “We would like to say a special thank you for your contributions to the nation’s outstanding quality of life and a job well-done.”
