The Farm Table Café will be opening soon on Kooskia’s Main Street. This restaurant – which I have heard has excellent food – is relocating from Craigmont to Kooskia later this spring.

The Idaho County Farm Bureau meeting is tonight, Wednesday, April 3, 7 p.m., at the Farm Bureau office 104 S. A St., Grangeville. All members are welcome to come.

Do you like to garden? Do you want to improve your soil? Do you want to recycle vegetative waste like grass clippings, woody debris, fireplace ash, discarded foods? And you want to do this in short order?? Then you need to learn to “hot” compost!

The Grangeville Farmers’ Market (GFM) will offer a free composting workshop Thursday, April 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Soltman Center on Main Street in Grangeville. Workshop presenters are Master Gardeners Linda Morrison and Wendi Thompson. They will be speaking on “hot” composting and “vermi” composting. Handouts will be available so attendees can take this information and start up their own compost.

GFM will also be hosting a “Meet & Greet” on April 27, for anyone wishing to learn more about the market or participate in the 2019 market.

Clearwater Economic Development Association will hold its annual meeting April 18, 4-8 p.m. at the Clearwater River Casino event center.

St. Catherine’s Altar Society in Kamiah will have a rummage and bake sale Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. Saturday is Bag Day for $2 per bag. The sale is at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall, 7th and Idaho St. in Kamiah.

The public is invited to join SHC staff for brown bag presentations by providers of Syringa Hospital & Clinics. The next presentation speaker and topic is set for Tuesday, April 16, with Maja Ledgerwood, LMSW, who will speak on “Anxiety.” The presentation will be held at the Soltman Center in Grangeville from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.

The Kamiah Chamber of Commerce invites you to their Brewfest Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the American Legion Hall. Advance tickets for $25 or $30 at the door. You can buy tickets from Clearwater Brewing, Kamiah Flower Shop, Higher Grounds Coffee and Idajo Coffee.

Camas Prairie Firearm Safety Group will be host to a Women’s Introduction to Shooting Sports, sponsored by Flying B Ranch in Kamiah. This is set for Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $65 per person and includes lunch. Limited spots available; no personal firearms allowed.
