Camas Lily blooms

Camas Lily is in bloom across the Camas Prairie now. Camassia is a genus of plants in the asparagus family native to Canada and the United States. Common names include camas, quamash, Indian hyacinth, camash, and wild hyacinth, and it grows in the wild in moist meadows, such as this one on Fish Hatchery Road outside of Grangeville. Americans Indians used the Camas in many ways, including eating the bulbs.
