Loggers form 2-mile-long procession to honor Cottonwood's Bob Ross

Two miles long, 44 logging trucks formed a procession through Cottonwood Saturday afternoon Jan. 19, in memory of Robert H. “Bob” Ross, who died Jan. 14, at St. Mary’s Hospital. The Cottonwood resident had been hauling logs right up to the time of his death, and the trucking community turned out to honor him one last time, gathering on Lewiston Street and leading the procession to Holy Cross Cemetery in Keuterville. The procession of log trucks alone was more than five minutes long and included locals from Keuterville, Cottonwood, Grangeville and Kamiah, and farther out from Lewiston, Kendrick and Juliaetta.
