Cheer competition begins

Coronavirus-related restrictions had prevented cheerleaders across Idaho from meeting to compete in their usual way, but with the school sports and activities allowed to host bigger crowds, their competition season is set to pick up this week. Grangeville’s first competition of the season will be Feb. 6 at Lakeland High School, followed by the Feb. 13 Maniac Cheer-Off at Orofino and the district qualifier Feb. 27 in Lewiston. State cheer competition is scheduled March 19 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
