KOOSKIA — Idaho State Police is investigating a noninjury commercial vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 12 that occurred on Tuesday, May 22.

The crash was reported at approximately 6:20 p.m. near milepost 76.6 in a construction zone two miles east of Kooskia, according to ISP.

A 2017 Mack truck tractor driven by Kenneth E. Kazda, 43, of Lewiston, was hauling a 53-foot Western trailer traveling west. As Kazda negotiated the curve established by the traffic cones, the trailer's tires drove onto the soft road edge, entered the ditch, and the trailer tipped onto its right side. The trailer came to rest against the hillside leaving the Mack truck tractor partially blocking the westbound lane.

The trailer was fully loaded with wood chips. Kazda was wearing his seatbelt. U.S. 12 was blocked for approximately two hours.
