Mark Imus and Phil Jahn will be instructing a series of free introduction to fly fishing classes on April 6, 7, 13 and 14, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Soltman Center in Grangeville. Attendees need to be 12-years or older, no outside materials are needed, and registration for all four classes can be done at the April 6 class. Speaking of GHS seniors: Mark your calendars for this Sunday, March 20. The Eagles breakfast will be a fund-raiser to benefit GHS’s Senior Fun Night. Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to noon for $7 apiece. Purchase advance tickets at Shear Magic or call Nikki at 983-5850, or from any senior. Meals are also available at the door for the same cost. A bake sale will also be held in conjunction with the breakfast.

The chili cookoff was a great success with 14 teams competing. Everyone said they had some great tasting chili and had fun visiting with the chili chefs and business owners. Thanks to the Grangeville Chamber of Commerce for setting everything up. Congrats to the chili winner, Gil Teter of Early Bird. See photos at right.

Sts. Peter and Paul School will host its Chocolate Fantasy fund-raiser this Saturday, March 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Silent auction items are available and a live auction will begin at 6:45 p.m. Tickets available at SPPS, Lindsley’s Home Furnishings, Bettie’s Floor and Décor and Irwin Drug for $30 each. A table of eight is available for $300.

Doreen’s Main Street Saloon in Cottonwood and Kooskia will host a St. Patrick’s Day celebration Thursday, March 17. Stop in for the fun.

Don’t forget — Lindsley’s Home Furnishings on Grangeville’s Main Street will host its annual customer appreciation celebration this Thursday, March 17. Doors open at 9 a.m. and a lot of sales will be in place. Food and beverages will be served 3 to 8 p.m. Stop in for door prizes and giveaways!

Keuterville Pub and Grub will serve traditional corned beef and cabbage St. Patrick’s Day. RSVP to 962-3090.

The Gallery in Grangeville will serve shepherd’s pie on Thursday, March 17, Dinner starts at 5:30 and there will be live music by the ‘80s rock band Vintage Youth starting at 6:30 p.m. Call 983-2595 for reservations.
