CLEARWATER VALLEY -- The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) first Friday $5 Fund-raiser lunch is April 12 (not the first Friday this month since the Kamiah students have school on April 5 to make up a snow day.) Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. until they run out. Lunch is a chicken patty on a fresh Hearthstone Bakery bun. E-mail upriverylc@gmail.com to order ahead. In-town delivery is available. All funds raised will go towards the Teen Center project.

St. Catherine’s Catholic Church (7th and Idaho Streets in Kamiah) invites you to check out their annual rummage and bake sale. It begins on Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. continuing Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Kamiah Chamber of Commerce invites you to their Brewfest Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the American Legion Hall. Advance tickets for $25 or $30 at the door. You can buy tickets from Clearwater Brewing, Kamiah Flower Shop, Higher Grounds Coffee and Idajo Coffee. As in past years, games, a silent auction, live auction and a raffle. The China Café and Adam Porter (selling Indian tacos) will be the food vendors for the event. The past few years the event was held in February, and called “Febrewary” but this year, they moved the event from winter to spring.

The “Wine and Wallets” event is also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Kamiah VFW at 3376 Tamarack St. This spring gathering is a chance to shop for products from Limelife cosmetics, Pampered Chef, Lularoe, Scentsy, Amare, 31 gifts, Premiere Design jewelry and others. Kooskia Library book sale is scheduled on Saturday, April 13, from, 8 a.m. to noon. Fill a bag full of books for only $1 starting at 11 a.m. The library has a guitar player on most Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. So, stop by listen to some acoustic music, browse for books or add some pieces to the current puzzle being worked on. They also have a puzzle exchange. People who have an old puzzle that they are tired of, can donate it to the library and pick up a new, used puzzle.

The UYLC is hosting a “Let’s Talk Vaping” educational session on Wednesday, May 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Hearthstone Bakery (includes a free dinner). The session is intended for parents/guardians, school staff, law enforcement, coaches and older teenagers who want to understand the risks and warning signs of tobacco and cannabis e-cigarettes and their effects on young people.
