The Grangeville Police Department is currently investigating a non-injury two-vehicle accident that occurred this morning, Friday, March 22, at the intersection of Main Street and U.S. Highway 95 involving a fully loaded school bus and pickup truck.
No injuries were reported to the occupants of either vehicle. A citation for failure to yield is pending against the truck driver.
Details on the crash are limited due to the ongoing investigation. The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m. at Grangeville involving an International school bus and a pickup. The bus was northbound, en route to Pomeroy, Wash., with the Grangeville Bulldogs baseball team, when it crashed into the pickup.
The Main Street/U.S. 95 intersection was partially obstructed for less than 10 minutes until both vehicles were moved under their own power to a business parking lot just north of Zip Trip.
A replacement bus and driver arrived approximately an hour following the crash to transport the team to its game. Coaching staff expected it could still make part of today’s planned JV game.
Damage estimates were unavailable at this time.
