POST FALLS — Wallace presented no obstacle to the Prairie girls’ quest for a 1AD1 state berth, which unexpectedly detoured through Coeur d’Alene last week after a district tournament loss last week.

PHS torched Wallace 57-14 last Saturday, Feb. 10.

The Pirates’ next chance for vengeance could come during the state tournament final to be played at 11:30 a.m. MT at the Idaho Center — if both Whitepine League teams advance.

Prairie will face Rimrock at 2 p.m. MT Feb. 15 at Columbia High School, then either Ambrose or Shoshone on Feb. 16, with opponent and game time dependent on who wins and who loses during the first round.

Lapwai’s path to the final would go through Liberty Charter, then Oakley or Grace.

Prairie’s state opener will be broadcast on 1230AM KORT at 2 p.m. MT Thursday, Feb. 15.
