Speed Racers

Another way of looking at the time trial format used in the Salmon River Jet Boat Races is this: It’s all about holding the highest average speed through all sections of the course. For overall and unlimited class winner Gord Humphrey, that meant holding an average speed of about 100 miles per hour. For CX winner Ryan Ringer (pictured at right) that meant running a total of 80 course miles (eight miles times 10 laps) at an average speed of about 84 miles per hour.
