A Texas man was injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash into the Lochsa River.

Simon P. Nsengamungu, 26, of Fort Worth, was transported to Community Hospital in Missoula.

The crash was reported at 12:47 p.m. on Oct. 24, milepost 151, according to Idaho State Police. Nsengamungu was driving a 2009 Volvo semi-tractor/trailer eastbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The truck and trailer overturned, rolling into the river. The trailer spilled a cargo of paper rolls into the river, as well as approximately 150 gallons of diesel due to both fuel tanks being ruptured in the crash.

Assisting on scene were the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Transportation Department and Lewiston Hazmat. B&B Towing handled wrecker services.
