More Elk City Days events: As stated last week, our theme is Honoring Law Enforcement. Our grand marshals are the following people: Terry Beeler, Tracy Bonner, Mike Chlebowski, Larry Dasenbrock, Stan Denham, Steve Didier, Pat Doyl, Curtis Jones, Herb Lindsey, Bob Maguire, Scott Paulson, Sam Stamper, Steve Stoneking, and Bob Taylor. Some of these folks worked in our community in a law enforcement capacity, others worked elsewhere, then came here to live. Thank you all!

Hunters can check to see if they drew controlled hunt tags for deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, and turkey. Results are posted through Fish and Game's licensing system at idfg.idaho.gov/buy-online for those who have have an account.

Stan Modrell opened the May 7th meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Shirley Crane offered the prayer. James Lawyer was the winner of the free dinner drawing. 84 meals were served at the site and 24 hot and 48 frozen meals were home delivered. Guests: Larry Butler, Wally Acton and Lavern Acton. Pinochle Winners: Beth Parish, first with 6,220 and John Purdy, second with 4,300.

Friday, April 20th, the Upriver Youth Leadership Council’s (UYLC) Youth Advisory Board (YAB), hosted a drawing contest. Each contestant had about a month to prepare art pieces for the big day.

The spring turkey drawing is complete and the results are now at huntfishidaho.net, and customers can now purchase their spring turkey permits. If they do not have a general turkey tag, they will need to purchase that product as well. The Web app for draw results has also been updated.
