McClure powers SRHS

NEW PLYMOUTH — The Salmon River boys won all three games in gold bracket play during the first-ever Christmas Tournament hosted by New Plymouth and held Dec. 20-22 at College of Idaho.

Salmon River beat New Plymouth 62-44 during the first round, beat Victory Charter 62-32 during the second round, and beat Horseshoe Bend 49-38 during the bracket finale.

Randy McClure scored team-highs of 18 points each day against New Plymouth and Victory Charter, and tallied a team-high 27 against Horseshoe Bend.

Schumacher lifts Prairie

In the purple bracket, Prairie beat Nyssa, Ore., 47-43, beat Marsing 52-44, and beat Liberty Charter 35-27.

Pirates leading scorer Spencer Schumacher scored 22 against Nyssa, 20 against Marsing and 15 in the finale against Liberty Charter.

Prairie returns to action with home games Jan. 3 against Grangeville and Jan. 4 against Moscow, followed by a Jan. 8 visit to Clearwater Valley.

Salmon River opens 2019 Jan. 4 against Highland at SRHS, Jan. 5 at Garden Valley and Jan. 8 against Tri-Valley in Riggins.
