Salmon River boys defeat Highland 92-39

The Salmon River boys basketball team concluded their regular season with a 92-39 win over Highland of Craigmont Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Canyon Harper (29 points), Randy McClure (19), Reece Jones (12), Jimmy Tucker (11) and Ethan Shepherd (10) all scored double-digits as the Salmon River boys punctuated their 2018-2019 regular season with a 92-39 win over Highland Wednesday night, Feb 6.

Dalton Davis scored 12 for the Craigmont-based Huskies, who will play Nezperce in the first round of the Whitepine League’s 1AD2 District II tournament on Tuesday night, Feb. 12, at Bradley Gymnasium in Nezperce.

Salmon River’s postseason will begin Feb. 12 at McCall, where six of the Long Pin Conference’s teams will square off in elimination games with berths in the Long Pin Conference’s District III tournament.

District tournaments follow double-elimination formats, with the District III champion automatically on to state and the runner-up to face a play-in against the District II runner-up at 1 p.m. Feb. 23 in Grangeville.

The 1AD2 boys basketball state tournament opens Feb. 28 at Caldwell High School.
